This 15-day package provides a stunning view of Everest & unforgettable beauty of the Gokyo Valley and its dazzling emerald blue lakes.
The Himalayas of Nepal is without question a magic land of beauty rich in Buddhist culture practiced by probably the hardiest and friendliest people in Nepal. After all, it was Sherpa Tenzing who accompanied Hillary to the summit of Mt Everest. The Everest Base Camp trek takes you through the high altitude Cho la Pass (5420m) connecting Dzongla in the east and the village of Thagnak in the west.
Trekking through the serene Gokyo valley in the Sagarmatha National Park offers some amazing views of Gokyo Ri (5357m) and Kalapathar (5550m) (a lovely site in the district) that permits a nearby experience of the Himalayan range. Besides these colossal peaks, Mount Everest (8848m), Mt Lhotse (8516m), Mt Makalu (8485m). Cho-Oyu (8201 m), there are other mountains that will leave you breathless, such as Nuptse, Amadablam, Thamserku, Pumori, and Khumbutse in the Khumbu district.
Sagarmatha National Park is abundant with unique flora and fauna and a diverse landscape ranging from lush valleys, forests, and glaciers. Along the trail expect to see yaks grazing, donkeys, Musk deer, Himalayan mountain bear, wild mountain goat, the elusive Snow Leopard, blue sheep, Rhesus monkey, Languor, mountain hawk and the gloriously colored pheasant (Lophophorus). At every turn, you can expect to be confronted by a unique array of wildlife.
Sherpa Guide Services Everest Base Camp and Cho-La Pass trek begin at Kathmandu followed by a short but exhilarating flight to Lukla. After arriving at Lukla, our trek begins taking us to Namche, Tengboche, Dingboche, Lobuche and Everest Base Camp. Climbing to Kala Patthar (5550m) offers some of the finest views of Mt. Everest, Dzongla, Cho-La Pass (5420m), Gokyo Valley, Ngozumpa Glacier, 5 turquoise Gokyo Lakes, Renjo La Pass, and Gokyo Ri. This Trek offers trekkers a more diverse experience of this region besides Everest Base Camp. This trek offers a broader experience for the trekker taking in many vantage points where photographers can capture the essence of this region.

Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu & transfer to hotel.
Welcome to Kathmandu, a city full of vibrant markets, bustling streets, colorful temples and grand pagodas. Our guide will meet you at the airport and take you to our hotel. The remainder of the day you will have an opportunity to familiarize yourself with the shopping areas closest to your hotel and catch up on shopping for equipment. In the evening, our tour guide will give you a brief introduction and provide valuable information about the trek. In the evening you will meet the rest of the group at a welcome dinner at a local Nepali restaurant.
DAY 02: Half Day sightseeing of Kathmandu city. Overnight Hotel
After a good night’s sleep and enjoying a hearty breakfast, we proceed for our tour of Swayambhunath (popularly known as Monkey Temple) “Swayambhu” means “self-created” and refers to the myth that the hill sprung up suddenly from a vast lake that once covered Kathmandu Valley. After this tour, we drive for a visit to the famous Boudhanath Stupa (said to be the largest in the world) and a significant center of Tibetan culture in Kathmandu. The stupa is designed to be like a giant mandala (a representation of the Buddhist cosmos).
After lunch, we return to our hotel to get refreshed then we process for necessary gear shopping & checking. We will help to check your essential gear for Packing Since your flight will be in the early morning you have to get up early morning and get ready to go to the airport for the next day.
Day 3: Fly to Lukla (2,804 m) and Trek to Phakding (2,610 m) Duration: 4-5hours.
After an early morning start, you will be picked up at the hotel by our guide who will take you to the domestic terminal of Kathmandu airport. The flight from Kathmandu to Lukla takes around 35 minutes, time enough to take in the spectacular views of the Himalayas. After landing at Tenzing-Hilary airport you will meet your porter who will carry your luggage. You then begin your journey with a relatively easy trek passing a Kani (ceremonial gatehouse) before the trail descends then leads above Kyangma village with its large gompa (monastery) and school. We then continue to Cheplung village where the trail passes through community forest within sight of the Dudh Koshi River. After crossing the suspension bridge you climb across the ridge to Ghat and then passes a school and complex of Mani walls, Chortens and prayer wheels. After a short walk from Ghat, we reach Phakding.
Day 4: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,441 m) Duration: 5-6 hours.
After breakfast, the trek crosses several suspension bridges over the Dudh Kosi River before passing through Tok-Tok, Bhenkar, and Monjo and then arriving at Sagarmatha National Park entrance gate where you will be required to buy a permit. After following the river bed for a few hours and after the last Hillary suspension bridge, there is a steep uphill trek to Namche Bazaar. Namche has a good selection of restaurants, a cyber café, pubs, post office, ATM and banks.
Day 5: Acclimatization day at Namche Bazaar
This idyllic town is an ideal place for "acclimatization". Health specialists recommend we spend the day being active, rather than sitting idle. From Namche, it is possible to take a short hike to Everest View Resort, visiting Khunde or relax and explore Namche Bazaar. Namche Bazaar is the main center of the Everest (Khumbu) region and has government offices, ATMs, internet cafes, shops, restaurants, bakery, and a colorful market each Friday evening and Saturday. A short trek of only a hundred meters will help us to properly acclimatize. Our guides will also take us to the Tourist Visitor Center near the headquarters of the Sagarmatha National Park where we can observe an assortment of relics related to the first mountaineers to climb Everest, Sherpa culture and discover the varied plant and animal life of the Everest region.
Day 6: Trek to Dole (3,680 m) Duration: 5-6 hours.
The trail starts with a steep ascent from the valley passing through rhododendron, juniper and large conifer forest that heightens the senses with their aroma. The trail passes through Yak Kharka (meaning grazing pasture for yak) and various Sherpa villages. Throughout the trek, we will be blessed with awesome views of Khumbu La Pass and Taboche.
Day 6: Trek to Gokyo (4,790 m) Duration 5-6 hours.
Today we head off to Gokyo (4790m), one of the highlights of this trek. While in Gokyo for 2 days we will take a few trails and explore the surrounding terrain. Overnight at Gokyo.
Day 8: Trek to Gokyo Ri (5,483 m) and Back to Gokyo via Trek to Thangnak (4,500 m) Duration: 6-7 hours.
Today we trek for around 6 to 7 hours beginning in the early morning with a steep climb up to the peak of Gokyo Ri (5483m). The stunning views will leave you spellbound and put your camera into overdrive! The magnificent views Gokyo valley, the enormous Ngozumpa Glacier (world’s highest), incredible panoramic views of the entire Khumbu region, including the towering peaks of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Makalu, Cho-Oyu and Gychung Kang (7952m). Trek to the foot of Cho La pass. Due to its isolation, our accommodation tonight will be in a dormitory.
Day 9: Cross Chola Pass (5,368m) and trek to Dzongla (4,830m) Duration: 6-9 hours.
Rising early, we then trek from Gokyo Ri and get a magnificent view of Mt Cholatse (6440m). Today is the toughest day of our trek as we head to Cho-La Pass (5420m). On reaching the highest point of the valley we begin our trek through Cho La Pass taking in some amazing views of Chola Lake and Mt.Amadablam. The climbing can be quite difficult due to being rugged and with rocks glazed over with ice. Upon reaching the top of the pass we then head downhill to Dzongla – a more relaxing descent!
Day 10: Trek to Lobuche (4,910 m ) Duration: 4-5 hours.
A rather easy trek today of around 4-5 hours takes us to Lobuche. Overnight at Lobuche.
Day 11: Trek to Everest Base Camp (5,365 m) and then Back to Gorak Shep (5,180 m) Duration: 6-7 hours.
This morning we will begin with a two-hour trek to Gorakshep. The trail is initially quite easy but progressively becomes more difficult. Along the trail, we have some fantastic views of several towering peaks, such as Everest, Nuptse, and other enormous peaks. The trail continues for about 150 meters before traversing a moraine and then gets easier before arriving at Gorakshep, one on the world’s most isolated and highest settlements. After stopping for lunch we trek toward EBC following a trail alongside the Khumbu ice sheet. The trek around the ice sheet takes around 1.5 hours before crossing the glacier and into the region of EBC (5360m). At base camp, you will have an opportunity to meet other climbers and share stories. From EBC you will have views of the Khumbu ice sheet and glacier with its frightening and dangerous crevices. We will then descend to Gorakshep, a journey of 6 to 7 hours.
Day 12: Hike Up to Kala Patthar (5,555 m) and Trek Down to Pheriche (4,300m) Duration: 6-7 hours.
This is definitely one of the toughest days of our journey as we climb higher and higher before reaching Mt. Kala Patthar (5555m). This is a test of our stamina demanding an all-out effort. You will be amply rewarded upon reaching the summit and have some of the most awesome views imaginable of nearby in-your-face mountains, including Everest (8848m) and other colossal peaks such as Nuptse, Pumori (7161m), Changtse (7543m), Lhotse (8516m) and other surrounding peaks. A fairly rapid descent takes us back to Gorak Shep for a well-deserved hot breakfast before heading back down to Pheriche.
Day 13: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,441 m) Duration: 6-7 hours.
We have a long day ahead of us with about 7 hours trekking passing through the villages of Pangboche and Tengboche before descending to Phunki Thanga (3200m). Our final trek is to Namche where we can celebrate our success and reminisce sharing the highlights. This is also your last opportunity to appreciate the beauty of these towering peaks. At Namche you can reconnect via the internet with the outside world, visit the bread shop and maybe hang out at a bar!
Day 14: Trek to Lukla (2,804 m) Duration: 6-7 hours.
This is our final day of trekking before returning to our starting point at Lukla. This is a time to reflect on the unforgettable memories of our trek as a group and our achieving our individual goals. A free afternoon allows you time to relax and enjoy a hot shower! In the evening we will celebrate with a few drinks and dance.
Day 15: Morning Flight from Lukla to Kathmandu Duration: 30 minutes’ flight.
Enjoying the last glimpse of the mountains we have recently visited, the 35 minutes’ scenic flight takes us back to Kathmandu. On arrival in Kathmandu, we are met and transferred back to our starting hotel.
Day 16: Transfer to International Airport.
